As a coffee lover, you can imagine how excited I was when Eat Your Coffee asked me to try some samples of their snack bars and post my thoughts.

I’ve now had the chance to try all three flavors (fudgy mocha latte, salted caramel macchiato, and peanut butter mocha). If I had to choose, I’d say salted caramel macchiato is my favorite.

They all taste great and are made from five all-natural ingredients: dates, nut butter, oats, and Fair Trade coffee. They’re also gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO, and kosher to boot. Basically, anyone with dietary restrictions should be able to eat these.

Each bar contains 80 mg of caffeine, which is equivalent to what you get in an 8 oz cup of coffee. They have 180 calories, which is the perfect amount for a mid-hike snack.

I’ve been keeping my daypack stocked with Eat Your Coffee bars for an extra pick me up on short hikes around my home base in Tucson.

Tip: Want to hike Tucson’s best trails? Read my Best Hikes in Tucson article or check out our individual Tucson Hiking Guides.

I also took a few to the North Cascades last week to fuel up on our grueling 55-mile backpacking trip. They certainly did the trick!
